God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:24
Jesus tells the woman at the well that arguing over location or format of worship is not what God is about. He is Spirit so we must worship Him from our spirit. Our inner being must connect with His. It is this contact that God demands as worship. It is not a particular ritual or place. Jesus died so that we could connect with the Father Spirit to spirit.
He is also telling her that it doesn’t matter how well you define a god if he is not the One Deity who created us all. He is Truth as well as Spirit. You can’t make Him up as you go along. We must worship Him as He revealed Himself to mankind. Yes the living way that Jesus opened for us in new and fresh every day, but the One we worship is the Ancient of Days. He is unchanging; without flaws to work on. He never turns.
Those who worship God must come to Him with both of these foundations to kneel on before our Father. We can’t come in spirit without understanding what we are doing. Nor can we memorize some formula that will allow us to access God’s power without touching His Person. Worship the Father fully through Christ’s work by the Holy Spirit’s power every day. Then others will see His Person and the result will be changing their lives to know Him.
Deep And Honest Worship Require,
Pastor Jason
