Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment. John 7:24
The Pharisees were angry with Jesus for "breaking" the Sabbath by healing someone. They accused Him off having a demon. He pointed out their hypocrisy shown by the fact that they circumcised boys on the Sabbath. They sent the temple police to arrest Him but they couldn't do it because He made too much sense.
Jesus kept teaching and there was a controversy about Him. Jesus told them to quit judging by the shallow standards of appearance. He told them they needed to look deeper into things so they could make good judgments based on what was right.
We need to do the same today. Judge by fruits instead of rules. Then we won't find ourselves angry at others for doing good.
