And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Hebrews 10:24-25
When thinking about our attendance of meetings we need to consider one another. Sometimes there are valid reasons to miss a service, but it is something we need to take seriously. The reason we meet is to stir up love and good works. It is hard to stir or be stirred if we aren't with each other. In our fast-paced culture this is even more crucial.
When we are in need we come to the body for support and care. When we are healthy we come to bear those who are in need. If we come only for either one, we are depriving the rest of the body of our ministry or of the opportunity to minister their God-given gifts to us. We are one body held together by every joint's supply. Maybe you don't need us this week but we need you. We need you to think about us and stir us to love and good works. We need to do the same for you. We need more than pew-sitting. We need you to be part of our lives.
Visit someone in the fellowship part of the service. The fellowship that comes after the group ministry isn't a nice option to add to the package of Christianity. It is a necessary component of that walk. One reason believers get stuck in their walk is because they are casual about their relationship with the church body they are part of. They love Jesus with passion but they don't want to deal with the messy brothers and sisters. The Apostle John tells us if we don't love the brother we can see then we can't really love God. Find out how the body is doing. Encourage each other in the Lord and touch each other throughout the week.
Coming Together,
Pastor Jason
