Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:4-5
It is true we are rejected by some but not by God. He has chosen us to be in his plans. We are precious to Him because we are the material He has selected to build a spiritual house from. We are the people He has employed as priest and kings in His government. It is not so hard to deal with the rejection of men when we realize that Jesus too was rejected by them yet God chose Him to be the cornerstone so that the rest of us align ourselves to Him.
The pain of rejection can be hard to deal with. The way we manage that pain determines our success in life. We can offer up sacrifices that God will accept when we line up with Jesus. Jesus offends those who don’t accept Him as the starting point. They stumble over Him. For those of us who follow Him He is our foundation. As we orient ourselves to Him our lives make sense. We are given the tools to make a difference in this world and in the one to come.
Brothers and sisters, cast off the rejection of men so you can embrace the value God has placed in us by choosing us to be His people and giving us positions of significance. Once we have received His blessings we can afford to spend them on others and not hoard them because we know He has more for us as we become ministers of life like Him. Join with the Lord today to change the world we live in for the better. Follow Him into a better world to come.
