The Holy Spirit is to be so inundated in our lives that we are living for Christ in every aspect of behavior. He should affect our relationships, our job, and even the mundane activities of life. All of these things comprised together make up our life. Live or die we belong to Christ. Our daily lifestyle will reflect the Lord in every way. Not all areas will be as strong as the others but Christ will continually increase His appearance as we give way to His Spirit and die to ourselves. Like John the Baptizer our attitude is He must increase; I must decrease.
Jesus is the Lord of His entire Church; those who are already with Him as well as those of us who are still waiting for His return. He is the Lord of the living and the dead so that we are part of the enduring body of Christ. We belong to the same Church that Peter, Paul, and John belong to. This sprawling, timeless group of people from Adam on has kept the reign of God alive on the earth. It is the Church of the Ages that will defeat Satan in Christ. God will soon crush our enemy under our feet.
Do not think that you live (or die) for yourself. Your daily plans as well as you life goals need to be subject to His will. We belong to Jesus so it is His Lordship we will answer to. Don’t judge brothers or sisters they belong to Christ not you. (Proverbs 22:2) He will judge us all in the end. Christ’s death and resurrection makes Him the perfect Lord/Judge of the dead and the living.
