He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:13-14
He, our Father, has liberated us from the dominance of evil and translated us into the kingdom of Jesus. It is in this deliverance that we find our value. Our ticket to the Promised Land and the translation of who we are into His dimension are all purchased by the Son’s Sacrifice of Himself. Our value comes in the cleansing of our sins and restoration to the Image that was damaged in the garden when our parents rebelled by breaking the one restriction that was put upon them. Now we can quit struggling about what is good and evil because we live in the kingdom of the Son. We can have confidence in our value which allows us to be imitators of our Father because of the Spirit imparted to us when we believed in the work of Christ the Son. Our past is no longer a weight dragging us down. It is the launch pad into a new life.
Our Father has provided us with all we need to live abundantly in this life and the one to come. The most amazing thing about this is that He has invested this abundant life in us. It is part of who we are in the new kingdom. It is up to us to develop its potential. We have the opportunity through sharing Jesus with those around us. We have the ability through faith’s grounding to hold us steadfast so that we do not move away from Him or the hope we have in Him. By His Spirit working through us in faith He is able to bring us to the Father cleansed and empowered to rule His kingdom. Like Joseph who was moved from the prison pit to the pinnacle of kingdom authority Christ was raised from the pit of death to be seated with the Father to open the same for us. We have been conveyed into His kingdom with power through His Spirit by His own blood.
How should we live now, knowing that what we haven’t experienced all that He has provided for us? I believe we need to live adventurously so that we can find the extent of what He has purchased for us. I believe we should show our gratitude to Him by developing the value He has invested in us to the fullest. He has delivered us – what will we make of it?
