Welcome Words -- May 13, 2009

For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.
1 Thessalonians 2:13

I am thankful for the same reason Paul is. Those who have received my ministry as from God and have welcomed it into their lives because of that belief have been changed. They were/are able to get past the human who delivered it and receive what God is working in them. The more we are able to look past those who minister to us to the actual work God is speaking into us the more effective the ministry works in us.

A brother in our body gave me a word of correction. His correction was received without regard to our relationship because I could tell that he was humbly bringing something to me that he believed God had shown him. He was right in many aspects of what he said. Even the parts that weren’t quite in line were given in love and in that respect from God. I received what he said as from the Lord and it has worked in me. I know that if I had just “considered the source” I could have ignored the word of God and it would not have been able to work changes in me as effectively as it has.

I pray the Lord will be effective to many because of me. I know that I have to allow others to speak into my life for this to happen. Lord I pray that you will help me freely receive your ministry so that I can freely minister to others.

Grateful For You,

Pastor Jason
