"Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also? For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it oxen God is concerned about? Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope."

Paul was often bi-vocational by necessity to fulfill his ministry. He was more than willing to do so for the sake of his calling. According to his writings here that is not God’s best plan. His plan is to bless His people with an unmuzzled pastor as he/she treads out the grain that will make the bread that feeds His people. Like Paul, I am more than willing to work for the privilege of ministry. Yet for the sake of the kingdom, I would love to be available to invest more time in His people and in our community.
Please pray that God releases his ministers to more and more ministry. We desire to see our church grow and to affect our communities for Christ. We know we could be more effective if we were able to focus more of our resources on ministry instead of paying bills. As churches grow and demand more of our time we will need God’s grace and wisdom to lead His amazing people. Also pray that God continues to raise leaders to oversee the many areas of ministry He has for us. We are so grateful for those who carry burdens of administrating and ministering to others. We are especially thankful for your prayers.
As each of us move forward into the promises of ministering to our communities I am thankfully partnering with you. I know that the Father is faithful to keep the promises we have been given. All we have to do is join Him in faith.
Muzzled or Unmuzzled,
Pastor Jason
