Comforted By God -- April 1, 2009

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

As we face the troubles of life, we can count on our merciful Father and comforting God to bring comfort to any situation. This not only brings relief to us in the trials of life, but also according to this scripture, enables us to comfort others with the very comfort that God has given us. This is one of the reasons that we can count it all joy when trials come into our live. These trials are preparing us to be ministers to others. They open us up to carry God’s comforts to those around us so that they too can become God’s comfort carriers, sometimes referred to as discipleship.

I am grateful for all the comfort that God has given me. That means that I really have to be thankful for all the skills that He has developed in me during the trials of life. That is important because I can be joyfully satisfied with the troubles I face because of the opportunity I have to become a better minister in Christ. I pray that the Spirit helps me deliver the same comfort that the Father has given me to those around me who are in troubles. I haven’t looked forward to every trial when I realized it was upon me, but almost always I have had to admit that I am better for what I have experienced. Jesus’ character has been pressed into me and I am better equipped for ministering to others. Bless God for His merciful comfort to me!

May the God of All Comfort, Comfort You,

Pastor Jason
