Look Around -- February 4, 2009

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world …
Psalm 19:1-4

Everywhere we look evidence presents itself to us declare God’s glory. The very sky shouts His greatness. In the day, the sky’s blue depth, the rolling clouds, and of course, the golden sun tells of His love’s provision for us. Every night reveals the intricacies of His thought; the complexity of His thought. It’s clear for any honest observer. Someone is out there.

Let me invite you me to LOOK around. Evidence of His greatness is obvious. His love shines through like the sun. The depth of His person revealed in the night sky. His detailed attentions show in the delicate precision of microscopic life. We have a great Creator who loves us intensely. He demonstrates His desire for us to know about His love in many barefaced ways.

Paul shares this same principal with us in the first chapter of Romans. He says there is no excuse for denying God’s existence. The visible shows the invisible. Paul tells us that denial of God in our world diminishes us. Instead of being the crown of creation, created in His image, we become scaled down by the things we worship. If we worship false gods, we become mini versions of them; blind, deaf, mute, unthinking and unable to act. Today we worship science and our society has become cold because of it. But we are not stuck here.

LOOK around. TURN around and worship the Creator. Then we will become like Him; wise, strong, active, and most of all, loving. The message has gone to the ends of the earth: A great God made us AND He loves us! Hear His Love for You!

Seeing His Love,

Pastor Jason
