Living With The Lord -- February 5, 2009

1A Psalm of David.
Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? 2He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;

Psalm 15:1-2

David asks God who has the privilege of living with God in His place. The answer is Jesus, the only One with total integrity. One who is what He appears to be; the One whose behavior lines up with God’s way. He is even honest with Himself inside. The psalm goes on to list several other attributes that all signify integrity.

The chance for abiding (long-term living) with the Lord is in Jesus. It is relationship with Him that establishes the righteousness needed. It is His integrity that allows for dwelling (more long-term living) in His neighborhood. With His Spirit I can be transparent and cause righteousness in our world. Only when He searches my heart can I be honest with myself.

Let’s move in. He has invited us! Connecting with Jesus will do it. He will bring His love into our hearts. He will bring His power to change us so that we can live with the Father in the holy place. It is impossible for us to make it into the tabernacle without integrity. It is impossible to live up to God’s holy standard to get that integrity. Our hope is in Christ.

Allowed to be with Him,

Pastor Jason
