Who Me? -- January 22, 2009

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
Exodus 3:11 NKJV

Sometimes it seems as though this attitude is too prevalent in the church. Crippled by what seems to be humility, but is really a refusal to accept what Jesus has done in us, Christians miss their opportunity to carry out God’s plan of deliverance, healing and intervention. If you have put your trust in Jesus as your personal Savior you are no longer merely human. (I Corinthians 3:3)

“Sons of God” applies to you! “Joint heirs” with Christ is you! Each of these titles/positions boil down to the answer God gave Moses that day at the burning bush; “I will certainly be with you…” God didn’t take Moses through a laundry list of issues to be dealt with. God didn’t deny Moses had problems or that he had been a failure. He didn’t deny that Moses had been rejected by those he was trying to save. God simply sent Moses on a mission and promised to go with him.

We have been taught that we need to relive our mistakes and evaluate them until we know them better than what Jesus has done in us. God plan is for us to move on. He wants us to leave behind the desert we have been living in. Jesus is the new and living way. Sometimes God even sends us back to our point of failure like he did for Moses. When asking who we are we need to remember the promise that the Lord gave Joshua and the scripture applies to us in Hebrews 13:5; “I will never leave you or forsake you.”

Going Because He Is With Me,

Pastor Jason
