For they intended evil against You;
They devised a plot which they are not able to perform.
Psalm 21:11
The powers of this world planned to take Jesus out of His place, but they fell into His trap. When we plan to operate outside of God’s will, we plan things we can’t carry out. The only thing we accomplish is the evil in being outside of His plan. Whether we intend to or not we do evil against Jesus when we go against Him and His directives. We will ultimately fail in our objective of satisfying ourselves. We devise plots to keep having our own way, i.e. temper tantrums, overeating, manipulating others. We have a plan (and a very good excuse) for every selfish thing we do despite the fact that those plans fall down around us all the time.
Though we often brazenly defy the Messianic Mission, we are living in the grace of God. Our hearts are calloused in these areas. Some are consciously intentional; some due to the protective hardening of our hearts, but these hardened areas must be brought before Jesus in humility and repentance for softening. Only through submission to His will can we be redeemed to truth health.
I invite you today to turn your heart toward Him. Soften before Jesus and allow His will for your life to manifest. Then our lives will be fulfilling no matter in what circumstances we find ourselves. Throw out the plot you have devised so you can take up His plan of humility and grace
