Pure Pureness -- June 29, 2009

15 To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.
Titus 1:15-16

Whatever you want as a Christian you can have. You don’t have to follow someone else’s rules for your life. Jesus has purchased us to set us free. There are still things in this sinful world that will damage us and those should be rejected. That being said, you can’t love Jesus and love sinful things at the same time. You have to set your love for Him aside so that you can sin comfortably.

Those who defile themselves this way practice unbelief in God’s personal judgment upon their lives. When we sin we sear our conscience. It dulls our mind so we can use justification to OK our behaviors when we know they are wrong. We just don’t want to admit that we have been disobedient risking our ability to help others.

Lord, help me keep pure so that I can cleanly help others.
