Trusting Him -- May 5, 2009

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright.
Psalm 20:7-8

It really is all about where we have put our trust. People invest their trust in many things. Some trust in chariots. They trust in technology and its benefits. They are counting on their own smarts along with the wealth that affords them an easy life. Others trust in horses. They trust in might/ability/glory to impose their agenda on others. To them this is the payment they make up front to provide them with a significant life. But as believers we trust in Jesus.

The result is that ultimately the earthly things we trust will let us down. We will be forced to bow under the weight of carrying our own horse. Eventually we fall. The Lord, in contrast will lift us up when our own weaknesses trip us. The Lord will raise us up so that we stand straight and tall.

Lord, I want my trust wholly vested in you. Lift me from the weight of my life. Stand me up so others can see Your greatness.

Remembering Him,

Pastor Jason
