A Firm Foundation -- April 16, 2009

“If the foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do?”
Psalm 11:3

We are the temple of the Lord. Our foundation can never be destroyed because our foundation is Jesus and He has already risen. We are being built into a spiritual house and need to act accordingly. We can put ourselves in a state of misalignment with Jesus and destabilize our lives. If we don’t hold onto the foundational aspects of our walk with Jesus we will find ourselves facing the winds of the world without roots. Then they will be able to carry us away in the frenzy of the flesh or the culture. Even those who are righteous can be scattered.

Of course those foundational habits include:

1. Daily time with Jesus in Bible reading, prayer and listening to His Spirit.
2. Regular meeting with a group of believers for support, accountability, and fellowship.
3. Sharing our faith with others.

If we do these things we will stay firm on the foundation that Christ has laid for us. In that solid stability we will not follow the world or our flesh into any foolish behaviors. Then we will be excellent representatives for Jesus in the realm of influence He has given us to reach.

Firm against the Wind on His Foundation,

Pastor Jason
