Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation! Selah
Our God is the God of salvation;
And to God the Lord belong escapes from death.
Psalm 68:19-20
This Psalm is filled with the benefits that Jesus loads us with every day. Of course Salvation with the escape from death (eternal separation form God) is at the top of the list. Among the other benefits listed in this praise song are defense from God’s enemies, being included in God’s personal family and commanding us to be strong. Mixed among the listed benefits are God’s awesome attributes so that we can know who loads us with these blessings.
I have experienced these blessings in my own life. Jesus has taken me from a broken place and put me into His incredible family so that my wife and children are only the core of the family I live in now. My first family was completely scattered by the enemy leaving me a solitary soldier in God’s army. Yet God placed me in a family that is large and loving. He has defended me many times against injustice that would have ruined my career not to mention my finances. He has given me strength that I could have never drawn from myself. And of course I was lost in sin until He came to lift me from its slimy hold. He alone has released me from death itself.
I am thankful for a great, awesome God who is also intimately involved in daily loading me with blessing. It only makes Him more amazing. He is not some aloof, dignitarian ruler living far from my life demanding that I meet His requirements. He a powerful, personal leader who walks with me in the difficulties of life providing the means to serve Him effectively with a joyful heart!
Father, all I can say is THANK YOU for the blessings you have loaded upon me daily. You are all that scripture says and more. Today I ask that You watch over me and allow me to serve you well with the gifts You have invested in me. Thank You, for making things so that ministry benefits me while I serve through others.
In His Procession,
Pastor Jason
