For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:26-28
Galatians 3:26-28
I hope I can let that get into my heart. “You are all sons of God…” It is beautiful because it means that I am His son because I have put on Christ. My former status doesn’t matter. My racial heritage is not a positive or negative factor in my new status. My financial standing isn’t how I received my sonship, nor is my social level. Not even my gender determines my relationship with God. It is placing my faith in Him.
Not only do I have the privilege of being a son of God, I have responsibility of recognizing my fellow believers as His sons too. ALL who have placed their face in Christ are equal in relationship with the Father. I must remember this in all my dealings with the brothers (ladies included of course), even as a leader in the congregation. Maybe especially as a leader I have to relate to the others as brothers.
Leaders have to lead. They have to make the hard, unpopular decision sometimes, but it must be made with humility and a willingness to be questioned. It must be the balance between confidence as a son and humility as one of the sons.
Lord, I pray for wisdom to make the right decisions. I ask for courage to carry out Your will as I discover it. Today I ask especially for the grace to live among my brothers as I lead. Let me always see us ALL as the sons of God.
One of All
Pastor Jason
