Sacred Stewardship -- March 19, 2009

“Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful."
1 Corinthians 4:1-2 NKJV

I think we can apply this verse to ourselves if we join with each other to build this ministry from strength to strength and remain humble as servants of God. What does that mean? It means we put aside the false modesty that prevents us from believing that God can do great things through us individually or corporately. God has brought us together as His servants; servants of the Most High God!

What can His servants accomplish? Whatever He commands that they obey! Jesus has commanded us to make disciples in our part of the world as we go about our daily lives. He has called us to heal the broken hearted and reach for the lost. We are required to be found faithful as His servants. We will be tested as we build the ministry that God has called us to. We will be judged when we stand before Him when this life is over.

Let us consider ourselves as servants of God. Remember we are stewards of His mysteries. We are required to take the revealed things of God and use them as He has commanded. We need to get the church outside of the walls. We need to count on each other to be a church without walls, a church of people not a building or location. This is the only way we can obey His command to make disciples.

Glorify Him Forever,

Pastor Jason
