For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
Psalm 27:5
God has done all these things in Jesus. We are hidden from sin under His covering and in the holy (secret) place of the true tabernacle. We are set on the Highest Rock, Jesus. This whole psalm is refreshment because there is no fear in David’s heart as he seeks God’s face. Only joy and confidence are experienced under the Pavilion.
Like David I am sure we will see God’s goodness in both this world and the next or what’s the point? If our faith is only good for one world then the Apostle Paul tells us we are pathetic. We do see His goodness in this world. We are confident that we will see His total goodness in the next. We have been and are counting on Jesus.
As we look forward to seeing His Awesome Beauty revealed we catch glimpses of it as we learn His ways. We do this by staying under the Pavilion. That means follow the direction of His word by believing that He died for us and that He rose in POWER. Under the Pavilion means we are covered in His instruction and led by His Holy Spirit. It means we trust Jesus for Salvation and lifestyle.
On a HIGH Rock,
